Closer
The girls are playing together more and more. And this allows Mike to show them the other uses for their toys.
Stroller rides!
Gringos Drink Tequila
Laura and "Mart" came down to see us while we were in Mexico. We took them to the Corralejos Tequila plant just like any good hosts would. I have to say this was probably Sofi and Ofelia's least favorite part of Mexico... for now.
We translated the tour for los gringos.

Mike explained the bennefits of agave to a very curious Ofelia.
These guys are cutting the pinas into pieces before they get roasted in the ovens behind all the green machinery.
Mark showing how big the pinas are when they get to the factory.
Group shot. Quick tequila lesson: the "fruit" in the pic above is roasted and squeezed. Our guide asked one of the workers to grab a couple pieces from the oven so we could taste it. It's really sweet. When we were done sucking on the baked goodness (see Mark's piece in pic below) we were told just to throw it back into the oven.

On a Sunday Afternoon
So, like I said, we didn't do much but relax in Romita. We'd wake up in the morning and get fresh squeezed OJ. Look around the jardin for the guy selling churros, buy some fresh fruit with chili and lime on it...
Ride the little rides that seemed to be everywhere.
Sofi loved this.
Ofelia wasn't too sure about it.
Bought some great bootleg DVD's.
Here's Mike and the girls with Tia Mima. Mima loves kids and Sofi and Ofelia were instantly attached to her.
Old-timer row.
Tio Oso cooked up some carne asada and some chorizo links. Ofelia was steeling the links off people's plates throughout the evening. We wondered if she was really eating them cuz they were kinda spicy. We found out the next day that she had eaten several.

Romita
Last month we went to Romita, Guanajuato, Mexico. We spent the week relaxing and hanging out around town.

The Grandmas see snow!
There really wasn't that much snow last weekend, but to a couple of Californians it was an event. We were supposed to take the grandmas on a walking tour of downtown on Sunday morning, but it was too cold. I also wasn't going to let either grandma fall and break a hip on my watch. We took the car the The Market in Larimer Square instead.
This shot cracks me up. Sofi and Little Grandma have the same look on their faces.

Everyone wonders how the 4 of us sleep in our 1 bedroom loft. When they hear about us having guests stay with us, well, we get some strange looks. Here's how we do it. We borrow air mattresses and form the family bed in the front room! Ofelia loved this arrangement.
Actually, both girls loved it. Setting up was the best. You get mattress rides down the hallway.

The Grandmas Come to Denver
Last weekend my mom (Grandma Sandy) and my grandma (Little Grandma) came for a visit. Sofi and Ofelia were very excited. And when they realized that the grandmas were staying at our house for a few days they got even more excited! They still talk about the grandmas and keep asking when they are coming back to stay with us.
Every morning Sofi would go into the room to see if they were up.
Both girls spent the first afternoon tearing apart the shelves to show the grandmas all of their toys.
