SHE'S OK!!!

So Christmas night turned into our first trip to the ER. Sofi is fine! Her cold got progressively worse throughout the day and she was wheezing pretty good. She sounded a lot like one of those squeeky dog toys. Mike and I are both asthmatic, so we were a little concerned. Luckily, Aunt Sue got a new stethoscope for Christmas and tried it out on Sofi. She said we should at least call our doc to see about taking her in for a breathing treatment. We called and they sent us into Children's Hospital. Lucky for us it's pretty close to home! So at about 930 we arrived in the ER. They did a breathing treatment and Sofi sounded a lot better. We even left with our own nebulizer! Children's was great. The doctors were super friendly, and Sofi and Ofelia even left with a Christmas present.

This picture is a little sad... brace yourself.

Christmas Night

Guess who found the Muddy Buddies?! Doesn't she look guilty? We went to Aunt Sue and Uncle Mario's Christmas night.
Some of the family enjoying lasagna, tamales, and conversation.
Poor Sara tore every ligament in her ankle for Christmas. Ouch!
Not feeling great, but still managing to open presents.
Wondering where her muddy buddies went.

Christmas Day

We went to Grandpa Ron's and Grandma Gina's Christmas afternoon. I didn't have the camera out like I should have. The girls had a blast playing with their cousins Emmy and Adrian. Her are a couple of present shots.
Sofi's cold was getting worse, so Ofelia was in charge of smiling.

Christmas Morning

Someone asked Sofi what she wanted for Christmas this year and Sofi said, "to open presents!" Well, the big day finally came for her and Ofelia. Our tree was surrounded. Here's a before chaos shot.
Ofelia was very excited to open more stuff. She had lots of practice the night before.
Sofi was a little machine by this point.
A quick pose.
Ofelia was super excited about her new avion, but couldn't bring herself to part with the Froot Loops.
A pic of me.
Sofi and Ofelia's new room! Complete with a door! A rare find in a loft.
Tio Tony brought his gift over later that morning. Both girls were quick to learn what to do with their new drum set.
Tony and Ofelia testing their skillz.
Sofi with the new loft size art station.
Practicing for this summer.
I knew Sofi was tired when she asked to take a nap. She also wasn't feeling very well.

Santa!

This year we took the girls to see Santa! Sofi kind of knows he brings presents or something, but is more afraid of the guy than anything. Both kids managed to hold it together for these pictures, but we definitely need to work on group shots. I guess we'll get more practice next Christmas.

Christmas Eve

This Christmas we had a lot of people to see/places to go. We almost remembered to take pictures at each place. It was very busy, but very fun. Our families and friends were very generous to the girls this year. I'm still trying to figure out where to put everything.

Ok, stop one was at Tia Izzy's and Tio Ron's house. Sofi figured she'd wear her fur... yes, she has a fur coat. What two year old doesn't?
Ofelia wore a cute dress too, but won't get her fur coat til next year (when it doesn't fit Sofi).
As usual, Sofi was always near Grandma Yo Yo.
Ofelia showing off her new trick -- pretty eyes!
Opening presents.
Tia Virgie helping Sofi with a gift.
Great night! Sofi and Ofelia each left with a new wardrobe.

Random Cuteness Part III

LOVE this picture.

Sofi with Mia. It's not every friend you can pick your nose in front of.

They sleep.

Chillaxing.

Taking ornaments out of the boxes.

Almost our Christmas card.

Albequerque

A few weeks ago we went to Ablequerque to visit some friends we've known since college. Rob and Jo have 2 boys who are 3 (Angel)and 1 1/2 (Marco). The kids got along great! It was a lot of fun catching up and letting the kids run around. Sofi still talks about " those boys". She even tried to teach Ofelia how to say "Albequerque".

The first night we were there we had an early Christmas for the kiddos. What better way to bond than ripping open presents? Sofi is unsure about this kiss from Angel, but allows it. After all, he did just give her a new dolly.

This is just after the kiss. Mike is politely telling Angel that he better never lay a hand on either of his daughters again.

Three of the four playing with legos and cars.

Awww.

Awww?

Sofi was way to preoccupied with her new doll to play with cars.

At first I thought this was a picture of the kids playing. Then I saw the look on Ofelia's face. And then Marco's. My little bully at work again.

My little bully also pulled Marco of the little zebra bouncy thing. This was her favorite place to be while we were in New Mexico. Sorry Marco.

Sofi changing her baby's butt.

We also made it out to the zoo. They had this giant play area for the kids. The zoo was empty that day, so the kids pretty much had it to themselves. Angel was by far the best climber and the fastest runner, which is why he's not in any of these shots.

Awww.

3/4's of the kids.

Thanks for hosting us Rob and Jo! We had a great time! Hope you can make it to Denver soon.

Thanksgiving

I haven't been able to remember to take many pictures at family functions lately. It's becoming even more difficult when you know your 2 year old is just going to steal the camera anyway claiming that she can take pictures of "people"... this should translate to pictures of the floor, ceiling, someone's leg, furniture, etc. So here are a few shots of Thanksgiving dinner at Tia Virgie's house before the camera was swiped.

Tony's self portrait with Sofi.
How Sofi sees her family. Doesn't Ofelia look like she's trying to intimidate her big sister?
Look! I found food!
