Curious, very curious...

Sofi has developed a pretty strong attachment to her Curious George these days. He's her best good friend! She wakes up and has to hug him, sometimes he just has to eat breakfast with her, and she puts him in the wagon most of the time whenever we go walking. It's funny how it used to be us taking George (a smaller version of course) with us wherever we went.

Besos for Papa

People tell you all the time how fast they grow up, but it seemed like it happened over night. We decided it was the outfit... it couldn't possibly be Sofi.

Early Admission?

So in 2025 Sofi will be applying to colleges. Both Mama and Papa are Santa Clara Alums, so hopefully that will be worth a few points if she decides to go there. Of course she probably won't need much help with the skills that seem to be coming naturally to her. Notice how she knows what a throw in is and how she looks up when dribbling. She's even got her SCU sweatshirt on! How could they not take her?! And I'm sure that her debut as the youngest player to play in the women's world cup (watch for Sofi in 14 years) will help too. I wonder if I should send this to SCU now so they can get a glimpse of who could help them to another women's NCAA soccer title?

Almost There

This is some footage of Sofi when she would only walk on the rug in our loft. She started out only walking from Mike to me, and then Mike started planting all her little animals around the room and she would walk to save them I guess. This is all she would do until the Dragonboat festival came around (July 27th). We were watching her friend Sofia for part of the day and Sofi became very jealous that she was off playing soccer with her papa. Sofi looked at me, looked at them, stood up, and was off to reclaim both her papa and her soccer ball. We've been chasing her ever since.

Smilin' thru your 'hood!

Yes Sofi is walking on her own these days, but this is a little video of her before she got the hang of it. She is using her little 'car' to get around. She really had it down as long as she didn't have to turn, and just look at how proud she is of herself!

Pig Tails

Every so often I am able to wrestle pig tails into Sofi's hair. We get lots of compliments on them. I think it's the way they usually stand strait up. The end of the day is pretty fun too! When you take the rubber bands out, her hair looks like we just picked out her fro!

Bath Time

Sofi has been really good about her baths lately. She puts her toys in by herself and usually pees on the rug right before getting in the tub. Yes, we've tried to leave the diaper on til the last minute, but it must be something about the cool air. I tried to capture part of this ritual and even tried to get mike to strip down so they'd match, but he didn't go for it.
