Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...

Yes, I've watched The Sound of Music a few too many times, but lately Sofi has started to show us what a few of her favorite things are. Luckily, I've managed to capture them on film. This is Sofi's new favorite way to look at things.

And this is Sofi's new snack of choice.

When Sofi is held above her drawer full of tops she always opts for the fishy shirt. She will even move the other shirts around to see if it's in there.

Sofi's new favorite accessory is her little purple backpack that she packs her stuffed animals in when we go out. I used to put snacks and drinks in it when I went snowboarding... ahh those were the days.

The bottom shelf where we keep Sofi's toys is her favorite place to sit and read. Here you'll see she's cleared it off and is about to select one of her books that she now looks at instead of just chews on.

Air Time?

So Mike swears he read somewhere that you should "air out" your kid every so often. So lately Sofi has been running around a little naked in the evenings. It doesn't seem to bother her, and she doesn't have diaper rash! Not that she had diaper rash before the airing out started, but...

Here she is doing a little naked gardening with Papa.
Yes, that's just water.
Last night she enjoyed a little caramel apple with Papa - our dentist is going to love us!
Of course there are a few possible hazards to all of her nakedness.
Sofi bent down right after peeing, pointed to her pee and said, "agua?"

There's no place like home...

Sofi was jealous that her favorite shoes fit Dylan and not her.

Taking the D-Train

Last night we watched D-Train (Dylan) so Jamie could play soccer while Ben was out of town. Sofi loves hanging out with D and was anxious to show him her toys. Here she's showing him how to load the wagon... it's not a wagon ride without snacks and some soy milk. This was the calm part of the night -- when they were both strapped in and we were in complete control. Unless you count them throwing everything in the wagon out of the wagon so the preggo lady had to keep bending over to pick stuff up before things rolled into the street.

This is just a cute pic of Dylan.

Mike (Mr. Sir to Dylan) helping D up the rock wall.

Sofi trying to climb up the big slide.

It was a fun night! Sofi was exhausted from all the playing. D Train can come over anytime!

In this corner...

Yesterday we had Sofi's 15 month check-up. (Yes, this goofy pic is really from yesterday... I'm getting good, huh?) I thought we'd share some of her stats.

Weighing in at 19 lbs. even put Sofi in the 4th percentile - the doc says to feed her butter.

Her height is 29 1/4 inches which is the 15th percentile.

Head circumference (where Sofi excels) is 18 1/2 inches which is the 75th (not a typo) percentile. Yes, our daughter has a big head. The doctor assures us that she must, therefore, also have a big brain.

Dance Lessons

When Sofi was born Mike decided he never had to dance with me again. He was going to train up a new partner who would hopefully have more rythm and style than I do. Here's a little of the early footage.

This next clip is a little long, but you can see a few of Sofi's different moves if you're patient. She starts out with a little "bob your head" and then works into some "gettin' low". In the middle she even shows her "throw your hands up" move. Keep in mind she gets kind of shy when the camera is on.

Labor Day BBQ

Labor Day Weekend was screaming for a BBQ and Team Unstoppable took up the challenge. We picked up some carne asada and chicken fajita meat to 'q' up and invited some of Sofi's friends over. Sofi was a great hostess. She showed her guests where they could put their bags,

tried to make Mia feel at home,

showed Sofia her collection of mini spanish books... hopefully Sofia won't be the only one who speaks more than one language,

taught Felix and Zack how to push her up and down the hallway in the wagon,

and made sure D-train and his mom had enough to eat.

Overall, I think it went pretty well. None of the kiddos had a meltdown and we almost had enough food (a fact I'm not proud of).
